Jubilee Acres Finance is a reading site. You can open every article without an account, a subscription or a form, and we have set things up so that very little information about you is collected at all. This page explains what does reach us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who is responsible
Jubilee Acres Finance is looked after by the handful of writers introduced on our About page. For anything concerning your data, write to editor@jubileeacres.net.
A static site, by design
Every page is prepared in advance and delivered as a finished file. There is no login, no comment system, no shopping basket and no database of visitors. We do not run analytics or statistics tools, we do not show advertising, and we do not embed tracking pixels, social media widgets or third-party scripts that follow you between websites.
What is collected
Server logs
Like any website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers record basic technical details when a page is requested: the IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, the browser's user-agent string and whether the request succeeded. Without them the pages could not be served, attacks could not be spotted and outages could not be traced. They are held by the provider for a short period and then deleted, and we do not combine them with any other information or use them to profile visitors. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and available as the legal basis for this.
Your cookie-banner choice
When you answer the cookie banner, your browser stores that answer in its local storage so the banner does not reappear on every page. The value stays on your device, is not sent to us and contains nothing that identifies you. Our Cookies on This Site, Explained page has the details.
Emails you send
An email to the team brings us your address, any name you sign with and the text of your note. We use this only to read and answer your note, and to fix an article if you have pointed out an error. Messages are deleted once the conversation is finished and nothing further needs to be done, unless a longer retention is required by law. We never add correspondents to a mailing list, and we do not share messages with anyone else.
Links to other websites
Plenty of our guides carry links that lead off this site. After you click through, the outside site's privacy rules take over, and what it gathers is beyond our reach.
Your rights
If the General Data Protection Regulation or a similar law applies to you, you can ask us:
- whether we hold personal data about you and for a copy of it;
- to correct data that is inaccurate;
- to delete your data where there is no reason to keep it;
- to restrict or object to how we use it;
- to receive data you supplied in a portable format.
Send any such request to the address above; we answer within the deadline the law sets. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live or work.
Children
Jubilee Acres Finance is aimed at grown-up readers, and we never set out to gather details about anyone under the age of consent.
Changes to this page
If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever add a feature that collects more data, this page will be updated before that change takes effect, and the date at the top will move with it. The current terms of use are set out in Usage Terms.
