Rabbit ears are not handles! It is
painful to the rabbit to be picked up by the ears. Just think about if
someone bigger than you picked you up by your ears! So don't be a
Bullwinkle! (Hey Rocky watch me pull a rabbit
out of my hat). Most reputable magicians
DON'T
pick up rabbits by there ears anymore.
Rabbits like to play. Rabbits are
also curious, sometimes I think they are more so than the cat. To keep
them from being bored and to give them something to play with,
we
have taken old 20oz. pop bottles and removed the labels (we don't encourage
them to read). Inside we placed a few BBs or pebbles and tightened
the lid so it will rattle. They will roll it around in the
cage and the does insist on the bottle being in the nest boxes. We
have found that our rabbits prefer green
(Sprite) bottles to the clear (Coke) bottles. We have also suspended a
mineral spool from the top of the cage with a wire so it dangles, this is a
toy and a source for minerals.
